STARING AT ANOTHER MANS JUNK ISN'T HOW ONE INTENDS ON SPENDING A SATURDAY NIGHT...
AT LEAST NOT PUBLICLY. . . UNLESS OF COURSE, EVERYONE ELSE IS STARING WITH YOU. BOBBING THEIR HEADS IN UNISON TO THE SOUND COMING OUT OF THE SPEAKERS.
Against the backdrop of Norman Spencer's Afro-Pop! Tycoons of Teen, Lazy Ass Destroyer (OH), and Weird Heir dominated Gallery K. Each band providing stark contrasts to another & bringing the freaks outta the woodwork, to 1600 Story Ave.
Tycoons of Teen, broke that trance. The audience snapped awake by the sounds of the 50's reborn. . . With energy and vitriol.
Provided by the enigmatic, Yoko Molotov. Her onstage persona vitalizing the crowd with each tune.
Now, more about the junk. Lazy Ass Destroyer is a duo on the road from Ohio. Each one in converse with another. Rap lyrics, beats, and a fully clothed mic man, contrasted the heavy metal guitar fashions of Crusty. Wearing only black mask and matching G string, Crusty complimented his mic man perfectly.
Weird Heir may be new, but one could hardly tell. The local noise rock band (and hosts of the show, thanks y'all) brought together fluidity and panache. Combining haunting vocals and melodic swings. Look forward to having y'all out again soon!
